  • Bret Devereaux on the Iran War

Now that the recent unpleasantness with Iran has been concluded (thank God), it might be worth looking back at what people were saying early on in the conflict. Bret Devereaux, military historian, had an excellent post three months back at the start of the war. For someone such as myself who doesn’t keep much up to date with contemporary geopolitics and who was not overly familiar with the region, I found it illuminating, in particular regarding challenges with the Strait of Hormuz and with regime change: challenges that seem as though they should have been foreseen. It also lays out potential long-term consequences.
