Cuidich ‘n Righ is my personal blog on political philosophy and society from a traditionalist conservative and Christian perspective. While the age of blogging is well past its peak (including the small niche of traditionalist blogging, for which I’m probably over a decade late), things having either migrated to platforms like Substack or to more degraded and frivolous forms of communication such as X, this blog is primarily intended for myself as a way of expressing and working out my thoughts on these and related subjects, as I often find that writing acts as an aid to clarify and draw out the implications of my own thought. So it seemed still a worthwhile thing to do. Though primarily intended as an outlet for myself, I certainly welcome any readers and engagement with the blog: my hope is that making my writing public will encourage me both to keep at it and to bring my writing to more of a state of polished completion than it might otherwise exist as just languishing on my desktop or inside my head.
The views expressed on this blog will be highly derivative and rarely original. If one is familiar with Bonald’s writings at Throne and Altar and James Kalb’s writings at Turnabout, he is likely to detect their influence on my writings. For superior expressions of the traditionalist perspective, I direct readers to those blogs instead. I expect much of my writing will be summaries or distillations of things they and other traditionalist writers have published. In fact, even my blog layout is something of an imitation of Throne and Altar, as I find the organization there into essays, book reviews, and regular blog posts agreeable.
